Night Terror

night terror

open-eyed though open-eyed
                         I cannot see it

            another tongue

                                     back together
            with tape what tape

                         a wailing a wailing

            I grew them, breath braiding
            limbs thickening
                                     and must have

grown this too

or maybe I am just
            a tunnel back
                         into the communal horror
